Make tiles with!

Discover the joy of getting your hands dirty working with clay and expressing yourself through the art of tile making. No experience necessary – all ages welcome! Join us at St Helen’s Community Centre for an immersive tile-making workshop led by the talented Kirsty Collins and Beanie Aldrett Fleming from Experimental Ceramics Studio.

In group show TILED, at The Australian Design Centre artists transformed the concept of the tile into a canvas for self-expression.

Now, it’s your turn!

Both Kirsty Collins and Beanie Aldrett Fleming, draw inspiration from their experiences. Kirsty Collins celebrates her experience of finding solidarity within the online chronically ill and disabled community and the fierce beauty of disability pride. Beanie Aldrett Fleming aims to dissect and express the intersection of her Mexican, English and Australian cultural identities and how they interact with one another. They will guide you on your creative journey as you reflect and embrace your unique identity through tile creation.

From colour choices to textures, image references to pressing personal items onto the surface, the possibilities are endless. Bring along your photos, fabrics, and mementos to incorporate into your masterpiece.

We’ll provide all the tools and materials – just be prepared to get messy and let your creativity flow!

Don’t miss this opportunity to unleash your inner artist and create tiles that truly reflect who you are. Reserve your spot now!
